I'm born and raised in Rome, although my family has roots in the region of Puglia. Going between one home to another made me a travel lover and, slowly, a foodie. In college I studied tourism, and since then I "cooked" my personal story with my passion. Today I'm proud to have a job I love showing the best of Rome's food to curious travelers from around the world.
Q. What inspired you to become a guide?
Seeing my parents talking about their travels and taking trips around Italy and Europe since I was just a child instilled a passion for different places and cultures. Living in Rome did the rest.
Q. What do you love most about Rome?
Rome is simply the most complicated old town that exists, with hundreds of different Romes in it. Only the people who are born here can love this mayhem and not just the beauty of the history.
Q. Tell us about a memorable moment from one of your tours.
One time at the end of one my tours, a guest started to tear up saying goodbye. They thanked me with a warm hug and I knew I made their holiday into a real memory.
I'm a nerd, particularly obsessed with Star Wars.
I'm a hiker and love the mountains, even if my DNA is from a seaside area.
I only eat fish that is shaped like a fish.
Q: What do you tell your visiting friends to see in Rome?
I recommend craft beer places where locals go! Some of my favorites are outside the historic center.
Q: What about the culture in Rome should people not miss?
The fact that we enjoy aperitivi always outside, sitting or standing in bars and piazzas.
Q: What are some unmissable foods and drinks?
All the Roman pastas are not to miss, as well as Lazio natural wines and Rome craft brewed beers.
