Hi Gary – La Rambla is crammed with many different restaurants for you to try on New Year’s Eve and almost everywhere has some sort of live music for the evening. Little Italy on this list is quite close to La Rambla and they always have a live band and singers for the night!
I think one of the best place to eat in Barcelona is Nomm on Paral-lel , they are modern asian restaurant and I had the best dishes in town, last time I went there they have served me the best Peking duck and Crab , ( a pre- order dishes) I also had the best dumplngs and Thai Prawn ceviche I will never forget and I am sure they will have something special for the Christmas menu for the people who want something different than the usual and have a special Christmas , this is place to go ..

Hi! Looking for a great, buzzy place to eat, where we can also view the fire works from Magic Fountain area NYE… family of 5, including 3 older teens… so has to be somewhere buzzy and fun but not right in the middle of the crowds…. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated? Thanks, Leanne

Hi Leanne and Rand! El Xalet de Montjuic has great views and is away from the crowds. Fernandez (in the Raval neighbourhood) has really good atmosphere, good food, and is a nice cozy place, but no fireworks. Check with them about their hours on NYE. Enjoy!
I had a really nice experience in El Foro, which is in El Born, the coolest hood in Barcelona. The food was amazing and the service was incredible.

2 days to go to Barcelona and haven’t booked any restaurant for NYE yet…! Is it possible to just slip in to a restaurant or do we need a reservation? Two adults+one teenager. Will be at the Plaza near la Rambla at 12 o’clock. Any suggestions are highly appriciated 🙂
That’s a bit tricky given the fact you need reservations for most places on a regular night, so that’s especially true on New Year’s Eve! You might try Etapes, which might not be booked out, or Casa Rafols, which is quite large! You could also try Cervecería Catalana, where they don’t take reservations–there will most likely be a long line though.
