nous étions avec une guide que pour nous (nous étions 5) et nous avons pu apprécier la beauté du lieu et son histoire. c est un monument vraiment magnifique qui vaut bien le détour. Je pense que l’aide d’un guide est vraiment indispensable si on veut comprendre les tableaux et autres dessins et style de la basilique. Mais même sans guide on en prend plein les yeux- à voir absolument

To see St. Mark’s in all its splendor, up close and personal, and without mr the crowds, was a dream come true. Our guide, Romy, a native Venetian with an art history background, gave us a true once in a lifetime tour.

Yes. Because it is a holy place, St. Mark's Basilica insists that both men and women wear clothing that covers their shoulders and knees. They can and will refuse entry to anyone who does not meet this standard and we can't do anything about it, so come prepared.
