Excellent
This was a fantastic tour and we feel very lucky to have had Florin as our guide. He took us to some wonderful spots for Spanish food and drink, as well as sharing some historical context as we walked throughout the Sol district in Madrid. His English is excellent, he knows the city well, and he's a really fun guide. Cannot recommend Florin and Devour Tours highly enough!

Excellent
David was an excellent guide who had deep knowledge of Madrid. He has lived here for the last 13 years and knew the people at all of the different places we visited and we felt like we were able to slip right in like locals.

The food and a drink choices were a very nice mix of samples and places. Especially loved the tortilla Española from the Asturian restaurant.

Although I studied here in Madrid, many years ago and knew a fair amount about Spain, David filled in many gaps and added a number of interesting facts about the sites, neighborhoods, history, and culture that I did not know.

Overall, would highly recommend!

Know Before You Book

Is this the best tapas tour in Madrid?
We think so—and so do the 2,000+ guests who’ve given us five stars. This is the original Madrid tapas tour that launched in 2012, and it’s still the gold standard for travelers who want to explore the city through its best tapas, taverns, and stories.
How much food and drink is included?
Plenty! You’ll enjoy 10+ traditional tapas and 5 drinks (including vermouth, cava, and regional wines) across three family-run stops. It’s a full dinner, Barcelona-style. Come hungry.
What kind of tapas will I try?
The lineup varies with the seasons and availability, but expect a mix of Catalan and Spanish staples—things like *butifarra* sausage, crema catalana, fried fish, croquettes, and more. Every dish is carefully chosen to reflect local traditions and flavors.
What drinks are included?
Each stop includes a traditional drink—like vermouth on tap, crisp ciders, and quality Spanish wines. If you don’t drink alcohol, no worries—there are non-alcoholic options available at every stop.
Is this a walking tour?
Yes, but it’s a gentle stroll with plenty of breaks. Along the way, you’ll explore Madrid’s historic center, including the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, and hidden streets in the Habsburg Quarter.
Is this tour good for solo travelers?
Definitely. Our small groups are friendly, social, and perfect for solo travelers looking to connect over great food and conversation.
Are dietary needs accommodated?
We’ll do our best. There are usually vegetarian options, but vegan, gluten-free, or allergy-specific substitutions may be limited due to the traditional nature of the tapas. Let us know in advance and we’ll do what we can.
Do I need to speak Spanish?
Not at all. Your expert local guide is fluent in English and Spanish and will handle all communication, so you can just relax and enjoy the experience.
