This was our first Devour Tour and it absolutely lived up to our expectations.

Our guide David was terrific. He made everyone feel welcome and did a nice ice-breaker at the beginning of the tour.

We had a great group and there was plenty of delicious food to share.

David is very passionate about the tourism industry. His enthusiasm made the tour that much better. David was also very thoughtful and made sure all guests were comfortable and their dietary requirements met.

We can’t wait to do another Devour Tour on our next holiday.

Thanks David for creating special memories for us!

Excellent
Our first time, and first night in Madrid. Dani was a superb host and guide, bubbling with enthusiasm for his city, its sights and flavours. He has gastronomic experience to a high level so was able to give informed insights into the various delicious tapas and beverages we enjoyed on the walking tour. He was proud of the history of tradition of these wonderful family businesses. Highly recommended.

My son and I took the devour food and history tour with Montserrat in Madrid. Montserrat was an excellent guide!! She gave detailed explanations and picked great tapas places. My son is studying here in Madrid for the Spring, and he now knows the hidden gems of the city. What made the tour one of one was her enthusiasm as one could tell how much she loves her job. I would highly recommend to everyone to take this food tour with Montserrat if you love good food as well as a great tour guide.

Know Before You Book

Is this the best tapas tour in Madrid?
We think so—and so do the 2,000+ guests who’ve given us five stars. This is the original Madrid tapas tour that launched in 2012, and it’s still the gold standard for travelers who want to explore the city through its best tapas, taverns, and stories.
How much food and drink is included?
Plenty! You’ll enjoy 10+ traditional tapas and 5 drinks (including vermouth, cava, and regional wines) across three family-run stops. It’s a full dinner, Barcelona-style. Come hungry.
What kind of tapas will I try?
The lineup varies with the seasons and availability, but expect a mix of Catalan and Spanish staples—things like *butifarra* sausage, crema catalana, fried fish, croquettes, and more. Every dish is carefully chosen to reflect local traditions and flavors.
What drinks are included?
Each stop includes a traditional drink—like vermouth on tap, crisp ciders, and quality Spanish wines. If you don’t drink alcohol, no worries—there are non-alcoholic options available at every stop.
Is this a walking tour?
Yes, but it’s a gentle stroll with plenty of breaks. Along the way, you’ll explore Madrid’s historic center, including the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, and hidden streets in the Habsburg Quarter.
Is this tour good for solo travelers?
Definitely. Our small groups are friendly, social, and perfect for solo travelers looking to connect over great food and conversation.
Are dietary needs accommodated?
We’ll do our best. There are usually vegetarian options, but vegan, gluten-free, or allergy-specific substitutions may be limited due to the traditional nature of the tapas. Let us know in advance and we’ll do what we can.
Do I need to speak Spanish?
Not at all. Your expert local guide is fluent in English and Spanish and will handle all communication, so you can just relax and enjoy the experience.
