Excellent
I’ve taken multiple tours in other cities and with other organizations. Devour was my favorite. Highly recommend for a combo of history and great food sampling to get a feel for the city!

My two friends and I LOVED this tour. Our guide, David, was the best! He had great knowledge of the city and was very congenial. Total pro! The foods and drinks curated for us did not disappoint and portions were very generous. I will not hesitate to book another Devour tour where available.

This tour is well worth the price, with plenty of food and drink for the tour group. The portions were generous and overall delicious, especially the garlic mushrooms. Our guide Rosalita was knowledgeable, friendly, and was full of energy. The walking history portion was fun, especially with a group unfamiliar with Spanish history. An excellent experience for both solo travelers and large groups!

Liliana was awesome! I wish we had done this trip our first day instead of last. We had a great time and learned so much about tapas in general and the history of Madrid. Food was awesome!

Know Before You Book

Is this the best tapas tour in Madrid?
We think so—and so do the 2,000+ guests who’ve given us five stars. This is the original Madrid tapas tour that launched in 2012, and it’s still the gold standard for travelers who want to explore the city through its best tapas, taverns, and stories.
How much food and drink is included?
A full estate wine tasting and countryside lunch at a family-owned bodega on Day 1, plus a traditional Castilian lunch in Segovia on Day 2 (featuring cochinillo asado, if you're up for it). Breakfast at the hotel is also included. Dinner in Toledo on the first evening is on your own, but your guide will point you toward the best spots.
What kind of tapas will I try?
Expect a mix of classic Spanish and regional dishes, like garlic shrimp, grilled mushrooms, Manchego cheese, and padrón peppers. These are just examples—tastings vary based on season and availability, ensuring you get what’s freshest and most flavorful that night.
What drinks are included?
Each stop includes a traditional drink—like vermouth on tap, crisp ciders, and quality Spanish wines. If you don’t drink alcohol, no worries—there are non-alcoholic options available at every stop.
Is this a walking tour?
Yes, but it’s a gentle stroll with plenty of breaks. Along the way, you’ll explore Madrid’s historic center, including the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, and hidden streets in the Habsburg Quarter.
Is this tour good for solo travelers?
Definitely. Our small groups are friendly, social, and perfect for solo travelers looking to connect over great food and conversation.
Are dietary needs accommodated?
Yes, we can accommodate no-pork and pescatarian diets. Just let us know when you book. This trip isn't recommended for vegans or people with celiac disease due to the nature of the food experiences.
Do I need to speak Spanish?
Not at all. Your expert local guide is fluent in English and Spanish and will handle all communication, so you can just relax and enjoy the experience.
