At 66 years old, I can honestly say that Alfonso is the best tour guide I have ever had the privilege of experiencing.
Of course, he is incredibly knowledgeable, but what truly sets him apart is his passion for the subject and his unmatched storytelling. He doesn’t simply share facts—he brings the history to life in a way that makes you feel completely immersed in the experience.
But there’s even more: you get a private tour of Botín! Yes, Botín allows you to tour the restaurant before it opens, and afterward you enjoy lunch there. And this isn’t some rushed tourist meal—it’s a wonderful, quality sit-down dining experience.
This tour and restaurant experience impressed me beyond words. If you’re visiting Madrid, you absolutely must do this tour. And if you’re lucky enough to have Alfonso as your guide, consider yourself extremely lucky.

This was the most excellent experience in Madrid. Aranta was amazing. Ask for her! She was extremely knowledgeable about art, history of Spain and she went to Le Cordon Bleu. The meal was authentic. The walk to restaurant was short and entertaining. Just excellent…

Arantxa, my Tour Guide, was Fantastic. Her knowledge, passion for what she does, and her ability to teach were outstanding. I really appreciated her sharing information beyond the surface on the many paintings, and teaching me Spanish Table Etiquette during lunch. Thank you Arantxa!
