We so enjoyed the mix of food and history, learning about thousands of years of Barcelona’s timeline. The food selection had something for everyone! Highly recommend doing this tour at the beginning of your stay to better appreciate the city. Ariana was delightful and added so much to the experience!

Excellent
I took this tour on August 18 with Hector and it exceeded my expectations. I booked it on the second day of my trip because I wanted to sample different tapas to decide which ones to try on my own later and which to avoid. And of course, to learn about the history of Barcelona. The tour delivered. Hector is funny, engaging, and overflowing with knowledge. There wasn’t a question I asked that he didn’t have an answer for. I walked away with so much information I wondered how I’d remember it all but surprisingly I do mostly because of Hector’s delivery. We went to three restaurants none of which I would have found on my own. They all seemed to be frequented by locals which I took as a good sign. I liked most of the food/drink I had especially the cava, meatballs, croquettes, and the patatas bravas which I tried the day before at another restaurant and did not like. Baked potatos (instead of fried) and the sauce made a big difference. Who knew? One or two dishes were okay though I wouldn’t rush to order them again. We were small group and everyone was friendly. Overall, I highly recommend this tour and Hector.

Know Before You Go

Is this tour accessible for people with mobility issues?
Unfortunately due to the nature of this tour it is not suitable for guests with mobility impairments, or for wheelchairs or strollers.
Is this the best tapas tour in Barcelona?
We think so—and so do the 3,000+ guests who’ve rated it five stars. This is Devour’s signature Barcelona experience, running since 2014. It’s not just about great food (though there’s plenty of that)—it’s about understanding the stories behind every bite and every bar.
How much food and drink is included?
Plenty! You’ll enjoy 10+ traditional tapas and 5 drinks (including vermouth, cava, and regional wines) across three family-run stops. It’s a full dinner, Barcelona-style. Come hungry.
What kind of tapas will I try?
The lineup varies with the seasons and availability, but expect a mix of Catalan and Spanish staples—things like *butifarra* sausage, crema catalana, fried fish, croquettes, and more. Every dish is carefully chosen to reflect local traditions and flavors.
How much walking is involved?
The tour lasts three hours and travels on foot through the Gothic Quarter before crossing the waterfront to Maremagnum and Time Out Market. Wear shoes you’re comfortable walking in.
What if I don’t drink alcohol?
No problem! We offer non-alcoholic options at every stop. Just let us know when booking or tell your guide at the start of the tour.
Is this a good tour for history lovers?
Yes! This isn’t just a food tour—it’s also a walking tour through one of Barcelona’s oldest neighborhoods. Your guide will share the stories that connect what you’re eating to the city’s layered past.
Is this a good tour for solo travelers?
Absolutely. Many guests come solo and end up leaving with new friends. The vibe is relaxed, social, and perfect for anyone who wants to explore, connect, and share a great meal.
Are dietary restrictions accommodated?
We do our best! Many stops offer vegetarian options, but please note that vegan, gluten-free, or severe allergy accommodations may be limited. Let us know your needs in advance and we’ll do our best to help.
What if it rains?
We run rain or shine, so bring an umbrella if the forecast looks wet. Most of the tour is indoors or under cover, and the food will keep you warm either way.
