Excellent
On this tour you walk&snack, walk&snack again, then walk, snack, & walk again. The point is, the eating is broken up throughout the tour so you never get uncomfortably stuffed. Tour guide, James, was great. Food & drink was delish.

Excellent
This was my second time in Barcelona. Last time I left the country thinking there's got to be more to the food because the meals I had were disappointing. This time I thought I'd take a food tour on the first day so I could get a locals opinion of worthwhile places to eat. This tour did the trick. There's a lot of tapas around the city but some places just do it better. Our tour was with James, who was fantastic. He's very friendly and blends in with the group nicely. The group is no bigger than 12 people; I was with 2 people that I knew and the others were perfect, lovely strangers. James brought us to 3 places to taste eats and drinks. All the places were in the Old Gothic part of the city, easy walks. All 3 places were worth visiting again. I liked the 1st and 3rd the best, but that's just my taste. You might like the 2nd the best.

In between the food stops we walked around the Old Gothic area and James gave us some interesting history of the area so I learned more than just food stuff. This works so much better than just one big food stop. The first place had light small plates. The second had light small places, not the same as the 1st place. The 3rd served a bit more "dinner" but still plates to share. We had dessert at the 3rd place.

Booking the tour was easy. Meeting up was easy. The price might seem a bit much but in reality it gave me several places to dine for the rest of the week with the confidence that the stop serves tasty, good food so I think it was worth it. The tour, in my opinion, was worth the time and money. Have fun and enjoy.

Know Before You Go

Is this tour accessible for people with mobility issues?
Unfortunately due to the nature of this tour it is not suitable for guests with mobility impairments, or for wheelchairs or strollers.
Is this the best tapas tour in Barcelona?
We think so—and so do the 3,000+ guests who’ve rated it five stars. This is Devour’s signature Barcelona experience, running since 2014. It’s not just about great food (though there’s plenty of that)—it’s about understanding the stories behind every bite and every bar.
How much food and drink is included?
A full dinner’s worth! You’ll enjoy 9+ tapas and 4 drinks across 4 of the best family-run tapas bars in Madrid. Come hungry—this is a proper Spanish night out.
What kind of tapas will I try?
Expect a mix of classic Spanish and regional dishes, like garlic shrimp, grilled mushrooms, Manchego cheese, and padrón peppers. These are just examples—tastings vary based on season and availability, ensuring you get what’s freshest and most flavorful that night.
How much walking is involved?
The route covers approximately 1.5 km (1 mile) through the Gothic Quarter at a relaxed pace, with plenty of time to rest and eat between stops.
What if I don’t drink alcohol?
No problem! We offer non-alcoholic options at every stop. Just let us know when booking or tell your guide at the start of the tour.
Is this a good tour for history lovers?
Yes! This isn’t just a food tour—it’s also a walking tour through one of Barcelona’s oldest neighborhoods. Your guide will share the stories that connect what you’re eating to the city’s layered past.
Is this a good tour for solo travelers?
Absolutely. Many guests come solo and end up leaving with new friends. The vibe is relaxed, social, and perfect for anyone who wants to explore, connect, and share a great meal.
Are dietary restrictions accommodated?
We do our best! Many stops offer vegetarian options, but please note that vegan, gluten-free, or severe allergy accommodations may be limited. Let us know your needs in advance and we’ll do our best to help.
What if it rains?
We run rain or shine, so bring an umbrella if the forecast looks wet. Most of the tour is indoors or under cover, and the food will keep you warm either way.
