What was 15 years ago a no-go zone, the area around Calle Feria and Calle San Luis has had somewhat of a makeover in recent years, including the bars and restaurants.
Right now, it feels like new spots to eat and drink are popping up every week, and we are really enjoying exploring the new offerings in this area! In fact, for any food lover, it’s a great neighborhood to explore in Seville.
It’s not a popular tourist zone, meaning that tourist traps are practically non-existent, and there are a wide range of eating options are on offer, ranging from local bars serving up delicious traditional tapas, to modern restaurants perfect for that special occasion.
So when you are wondering where to eat in Seville, let us help you choose the perfect restaurant or bar by sharing our favourites places to eat around Calle Feria and Calle San Luis.
Contendor
This is one of our go-to restaurants in Seville for a nice meal, and despite being tucked away quite far down Calle San Luis, this place is no longer a secret. Contenedor is a “slow food restaurant” serving up different dishes using the fresh and local ingredients available daily, although one of our favorites is the arroz con pato (duck rice) that always has a place on the menu. Booking is recommended, as this place is well-loved among locals and visitors alike!

Mercado de la Feria
When in doubt about where to eat—be it in Seville or anywhere—just go to the market. Mercado de la Feria is one of our favorite markets in Seville, full of great gourmet goodies and bars. If you’re not hungry just yet, do your grocery shopping and get some tasty local products to take home.

La Cantina
While most people are now talking about Lonja de Feria, which is the newly opened “gastronomic market” at the back of the Mercado de Feria, we aren’t impressed, and much prefer our old favorite around the side of the market, La Cantina.
This little place is popular among locals, so expect a lot of people, a crowded bar, and simple seafood tapas flying every direction from the bar to hungry patrons. Squeeze in, grab yourself a cerveza, and don’t forget to check out the daily specials etched in marker on the tiles behind the bar – you won’t regret it!

Bar Sacramento
When we are looking for simple, well cooked food in this neighborhood, Bar Sacramento is the first place we head to. This great little local bar serves up no fuss tapas of local favourites such as huevos fritos con chorizo (fried eggs with chorizo) and almost every cut of pork done on the grill – in fact, the menu has a guide on the back with a picture of a pig and where all the different cuts come from!
This is also a great place for those seeking out traditional tapas that happen to be gluten free, as almost all of their menu is gluten free, with gluten free bread available as well as gluten free beer.

El Rincón Sagrado
We love nothing more than a good serving of cheese, and paired with wine is even better, so we love visiting El Rincón Sagrado, located in Plaza San Marcos.
As well as being a store where you can buy excellent quality local cheeses, wines and Iberian pork products, it happens to be a place that also serves all the above and more. There is an abundance of simple but high quality local products, making it a great spot for an aperitif or simply a degustation of cheese and wine and all things nice!
