Finding a flamenco show in Seville is not especially difficult. However, if you’re looking for some traditional, authentic flamenco, you often have to dig a bit deeper!

Seville is a city that lives and breathes the flamenco tradition and is known the world over for the quality of its flamenco scene. With a tradition that stretches back centuries, there is no better city to see flamenco in its purest form. While there are some authentic flamenco bars in Seville, they rarely include all aspects of the flamenco tradition in the way a professional show does.

Thankfully, for every touristy show, there is a stunning, traditional show to counter it! We love nothing more than a lively, passionate flamenco performance. These authentic flamenco shows in Seville will ensure that your flamenco experience is a completely unforgettable one!

Casa de la Memoria

We’re regularly asked our favorite of all the flamenco shows in Seville, and Casa de la Memoria is always near the top of our list! Casa de la Memoria provides an incredible insight into the beautiful art that is flamenco, effortlessly combining singing, dancing, and guitar in one spectacle. The nightly shows take place in the patio of a palace that dates back to the 16th Century, only adding to the Sevillano feel of one of the most authentic flamenco shows in Seville.

The intimate surroundings mean that seating is limited, so reserving tickets in advance is highly recommended. Your ticket into the show also allows you access to the museum for free. There, you can learn more about the fascinating origins of flamenco song and dance for a more complete cultural experience.

Casa del Flamenco

Casa del Flamenco, located at the back of the Santa Cruz neighborhood has an incredible nightly show, often referred to as one of the best flamenco shows in Seville. Housed in a typical Andalusian patio with a regular rotation of performers, this is a unique and intimate flamenco experience. The audience sits in a horseshoe shape around the stage, meaning there isn’t really a bad seat in the house. What makes this experience stand out as one of the best flamenco shows in Seville is artists perform without any microphones or amplification. This heightens the passion and power of every word as you feel it run through your entire body. Trust us, you won’t soon forget your experience at Casa del Flamenco!

Casa de la Guitarra

Home to Spain’s first ever Flamenco Guitar Museum, Casa de la Guitarra provides stunning flamenco shows, with a special emphasis on the art that is la guitarra flamenca. Located deep in the Jewish Quarter of Seville, this traditional establishment was founded by legendary local flamenco guitar player, José Luis Postigo, a man who has dedicated his entire life to honoring the flamenco tradition in Seville.

The intimate surroundings of the 18th-century building the shows take place in present incredible acoustics. This allows guests to fully appreciate the intricacies of the flamenco guitar, as well as the amazing dancing and singing that accompany it. The Guitar Museum itself houses over 60 pieces, demonstrating over 300 years of the history of this iconic instrument. Seating at each of the two nightly shows is hard to come by, so you would be better off reserving online. Surprisingly, entrance to the fascinating museum is actually free. Whether you’re a flamenco guitar fanatic or a total newbie, this is one of the most interesting flamenco shows in Seville.

El Museo de Baile Flamenco

The Flamenco Dance Museum not just gives you an insight into the fascinating history of the flamenco tradition, it also puts on incredible, authentic shows which vibrantly bring that history to life. Constructed on top of the foundations of an ancient Roman temple, this building is a work of art in itself. Although slightly larger than other show venues, the passion and skill of the performers ensure that the excitement is felt right out to the guests in the back row!

Tickets can be purchased for just the show or the museum visit alone. However, in order to get a real sense of the art of flamenco, we recommend buying the combination ticket that gives you access to both. Or, even better, why not sign up for one of the flamenco workshops where you can learn how to sign, dance or play guitar in true flamenco style. At the flamenco museum, you don’t just sit and appreciate flamenco – you live it!

Peña Cultural Flamenca Torres Macarena

Peñas flamencas are cultural associations often put together in honor of specific flamenco artists, genres or locations. Here, talented local artists get the opportunity to perform and hone their craft. The aim of a peña is not to make money, but to maintain the flamenco tradition in its purest and most authentic form. This unique environment gives both visitors and locals the chance to see some stunning performances from local talent.

Among the most well-known peñas in Seville is Torres Macarena, named after the street in the Macarena area where the organization originally opened in 1974. The peña recently moved to a larger location in the same neighborhood and the fascinating and intimate performances demand the utmost respect and attention from guests. This respectful atmosphere offers a unique and unforgettable experience.

Some of Seville’s most famous flamenco singers and dancers have performed here. The current 120 seat capacity building hosts weekly shows every Wednesday. There is no specific cover charge for entrance into a show. Instead, guests make a donation of €6 which goes directly towards funding the peña itself.

Address: Calle Torrigiano, 29
Price: 9 euros donation to the peña
Show Times: Weekly shows run on Wednesdays from 21:00

The Pena Macarena is the best bargain for your euros.
The neighbors and oldsters keep it alive, local and affordable.

Hi Abhay! Peña Macarena does not sell tickets in advance, so be sure to get there early! Bring something to leave on your seats (such as a scarf or jacket) in order to save them (it’s what the locals do!), then head to the bar to enjoy tapas and drinks before the show starts. Enjoy Seville!

      Hi Caroll,

Both Casa de la Guitarra and the Museo del Baile Flamenco allow entrance to kids under 6 (in fact, they get in for free at the latter!). We hope this helps.
