Grabbing a drink at this iconic rooftop bar in Madrid is a must. Perched atop Calle Alcalá, the Azotea del Círculo offers unbelievable views of the city. Lounge chairs overlook the bustling streets of Madrid and are an ideal spot to catch the sunset.
Entrance costs €5 and is well worth the trip to the top. While there, make sure to catch the art exhibitions housed in the cultural center below.
The Hat
Tucked right behind Plaza Mayor, The Hat is a modern, hip hostel that boasts one of the best “secret” rooftop bars in the city.
Bask in the sun while looking out over Madrid’s classic buildings and enjoy the relaxed vibes. From minty mojitos to refreshing piña coladas, their drink menu is alone is reason enough to keep you there all day. But, if you work up an appetite, go ahead and order some of their delicious tapas like Spanish tortilla, grilled octopus, or even sliders.
Mercado San Antón
Far from traditional, the San Antón Market is a great place to gather with friends and enjoy unique tapas and drinks. But that’s not all—head up to the upper deck and take in the view of the Chueca neighborhood while enjoying craft cocktails.

El Viajero
El Viajero is a popular spot to enjoy a laid-back meal in the La Latina neighborhood. Their menu offers everything from pizza and croquetas to hummus samplers, making it an affordable and trendy option for a day out.
Aside from their delicious food, the rooftop bar has a beautiful view with plenty of room to take in the sights.
Sky Bar – Hotel Riu Plaza España
360º panoramic views over central Madrid from the 27th floor with a gravity-defying glass walkway separating two different parts of the space—need we say more?
As one of the newer additions to Madrid’s rooftop scene, the Sky Bar at Hotel Riu Plaza España takes the popular refrain de Madrid al cielo to another level. You can even see a glimpse of the mountains on the outskirts of the city!
Keep in mind that there is a fee to access the bar for non-hotel guests, but the views and drinks are well worth it.
Oscar’s Terrace – Room Mate Oscar Hotel
The sleek terrace overlooking the city atop the Room Mate Oscar Hotel has become a favorite spot in Madrid among locals and visitors alike. The vibe here ranges from chill and laid-back during the week, to a full-on party come weekends, but you’re guaranteed to have a great time no matter what.
Here, you can choose from more than 30 craft cocktails to sip as you relax and drink in the views of the city.
Oscar’s Terrace is also home to one of our favorite rooftop pools in Madrid, though there is an entrance fee to the pool for non-hotel guests.
Picalagartos Sky Bar & Restaurant
Situated in one of the most emblematic buildings on Gran Vía, Picalagartos seamlessly blends a classic 1950s-inspired design with a fun and modern vibe.
With a fabulous wine selection and expertly made cocktails offering great value for money, Picalagartos is the perfect rooftop bar in Madrid to start your night out—or to enjoy an unforgettable dinner overlooking the city. Keep in mind that lines to get in can be quite long, so consider booking in advance.

Hi Amalia! Can’t say we have, but that sounds like fun! Reservations are always a good idea for New Year’s Eve but you should be able to wait awhile to make them.
