You may not see snow in Barcelona, but there is a winter and it can get chilly! Enjoy the chill at some of the best winter terraces in Barcelona!
While people usually consider sitting out in the streets and squares, enjoying a cold drink in the afternoon sun, a summer time activity, it doesn’t have to be. With beautiful year-round Mediterranean sun and outdoor heaters, there’s all the more reason to enjoy one of the many wonderful restaurants with winter terraces in Barcelona.
Kasparo
You know those squares that are so peaceful and quiet, you almost forget your smack-dab in the middle of the city, just a stone’s throw away from the bustling Rambla and Plaça Catalunya? Kasparo claims hold of a quiet corner of Plaça de Vincenç Martorell in the Raval, sheltered from the elements below the beautiful portico that lines the square. Grab a table, a beer, and order all the tapas your heart desires.
Address: Plaça de de Vicenç Martorell, 4
Cerveseria Glaciar
There are plenty of wonderful winter terraces in Barcelona’s emblematic Plaça Reial, but we love Cerveseria Glaciar, a local favorite, and hangout of the city’s most eclectic crowd. The corner terrace allows for another great shelter from cold winter weather in Barcelona.
Address: Plaça Reial, 3
Terraza Martinez
Tucked into the side of Barcelona’s Montjuic hill, Martinez not only boasts a gorgeous sunny terrace but also spectacular views of the port. What’s best? Eat, and eat well! Aperitifs with vermouths, traditional Spanish and Catalan dishes, and your basic tapas done well, you can be sure that a visit to Terraza Martinez won’t be forgotten!
Address: Ctra. de Miramar, 38

Santa Marta
Only in Barcelona do we dine on a terrace in the middle of winter! Santa Marta boasts a buzzing terrace bathed in sun, and right in front of the sea. This is your alternative to paella on the beach, and their simple menu includes tapas, sandwiches and burgers.
Address: Carrer de Grau i Torras, 59
Alaire
Not only does Alaire, the terrace of the Hotel Condes de Barcelona, have cozy heaters and blankets during the winter months, but it also boasts some of the best views of La Pedrera, the wonderful masterpiece of architect Antonio Gaudi.
Address: Passeig de Gracia, 73
