Reviews
Armchair travel through Portugal’s food history with Melissa was very informative and fun for our family to share together. It was a good replacement for being in Lisbon but whet our appetites for sampling and seeing the real foods and sights. Thank you Melissa for the clear presentation you gave. Your integration into Portuguese culture helped us to feel equally warm and welcomed.
My daughter and I did the virtual tour of Lisbon food last weekend and it was a blast. We already signed up for two more virtual sessions; One is a live Portuguese cooking class and the other is a “tour” of Spanish wine. Its a great and inexpensive way to feed your lust for gastronomic tourism in the era of the “The Great Pause.” I hope we can do an in-person tour next summer!

About Our Expert Guides
Melissa was raised on grits, biscuits, and barbecue in the Appalachian mountains. After studying in Miami and Buenos Aires, she moved to Madrid to work as a writer and translator. A passion for surfing and seafood led her to Portugal, where she fell in love with Lisbon (and its pastries). She misses Spanish vermouth every day, but has found a new love for vinho verde in its absence.
