Excellent

The tour was fantastic. It was just our luck that my partner and I were the only two participants on this particular tour, so we had our very own private tour of the Vatican. In spite of the soaring summer temperatures inside and out, our guide Andrea was incredible. He was knowledgeable, unimposing, patient and funny. We were so lucky to have him as a guide - thank you, Andrea! We appeared to be the only people using the shortcut between the Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s, and it made the journey between the two very quick and all under cover. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in discovering the rich treasures of human history preserved at the Vatican.

Having an expert guide who is also passionate about the art helps make the experience that much more meaningful and enjoyable. There is more to see than a four hour tour can accommodate. The tour was set out perfectly to give us the main points of interest setting us up to go back and explore in more detail after.

Are there any times when St. Peter's Basilica will not be open to visitors?

Note: The special access passage between the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica is closed on Wednesday mornings. It is subject to other closures during special celebrations/festivities, including the Easter ceremonies. On such days we will instead explore more of the Vatican Museums' galleries.

What is the dress code for the Vatican?

Access to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel is permitted only to visitors dressed modestly (no sleeveless blouses, no miniskirts, no shorts, no hats allowed). All guests regardless of gender must cover their shoulders and knees.

Is this tour accessible to guests with mobility impairments?

Unfortunately due to the nature of this tour it is not suitable for guests with mobility impairments, or for wheelchairs or strollers. Please contact the Guest Experience team at [email protected] to make alternative arrangements.
