A great tour with some physical demands.
The challenges first: Full exposure to the weather during many aspects of the tour, so be prepared. There are numerous, steep, worn/slippery steps throughout the day, rough stone walkways/ancient roads you'll be walking over, and many times little or no shade. Our tour guide (Eddy) did great at minimizing exposure whenever possible!). Although bathrooms are available in the Colosseum, the lines are long and anyone in the group using them holds up the entire tour group....and there aren't any bathrooms nearby for public use.
The high points:
Eddy our guide, an experienced archeologist, was not only informative but compassionate to the needs of all the group. In the Colosseum, he minimized exposure to the afternoon sun by pointing things out then moving us to shade to talk about them. He moved us along at a nice pace to maximize our viewing of the sites and spoke about so much that it really added to the experience.
We would not hesitate to book this tour again, especially Eddy!
