Excellent
Anna was kind , and warm. She was welcoming to us and very knowledgeable, answering our many questions. She led us around pointing out different buildings; explaining some of the architecture, as well as canals and shared a lot about Venus and the local foods and some traditions. She was so pleasant and made our evening fun. I would take any tour with her, and highly recommend her to my friends and family.

We had such a great time on our Eat like a local tour! Jennifer was not only super knowledgeable about the different types of food and drink we had, she also gave us a great history lesson of Venice. She also was able to switch some of the food for me since I don’t eat seafood. Highly recommend her and this tour for anyone who wants to eat like a local and learn all about Venice!

Know before you book

Is this a private tour?
Yes — this is a fully private tour your own guide and maximum 8 of your friends and family. The best of Barcelona’s food culture isn’t always easy to find. With a private guide, you get the flavors, the stories, and the places that locals love.
How much food is included?
A full lunch at the Rioja Alavesa winery on Day 1, plus the full *pintxos* tour in San Sebastian that evening (multiple stops, multiple bars — enough for dinner and then some). Breakfast at the hotel on Day 2. Lunch in Getaria on Day 2 is on your own, so you can choose your own spot. Your guide will have suggestions — this is a fishing village, so we recommend going with the fish!
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
We can offer vegetarian alternatives, gluten-free, dairy-free, and non-alcoholic drinks. However, celiac disease and severe allergies are not easily accommodated due to the risk of cross-contamination.
Why choose a private Venice food tour?
Because Venice is best explored with someone who knows where to find the real flavors—away from the crowds and into the spots locals love.
What are cicchetti?
Cicchetti are Venice’s answer to tapas: small, flavorful bites served in traditional bars across the city. Think creamy baccalà mantecato, sweet-and-sour sarde in saor, fried snacks, and more—perfect alongside a glass of local wine.
What makes this different from other Venice food tours?
This isn’t just a tasting tour. It’s a chance to experience Venice’s food culture from the inside out, guided by someone who knows the stories behind every bite.
What is the cancellation policy for private food tours?
Private food tours may be cancelled and refunded up to 7 days before the tour date. Thank you for understanding.
Can I customize the route or food stops on a private tour?
Our routes and tastings are thoughtfully planned in advance. Each stop has been chosen for its craft, character, and place in the neighborhood’s daily life. Keeping the route intact allows the experience to unfold smoothly without rushing or waiting. That way you can simply arrive and enjoy a table, seat, or bite waiting just for you. While the route itself stays the same, the rhythm is yours. Your guide adjusts the pace to suit your group.
