I've lived in the suburbs of NYC for years. I've been a frequent train rider to Grand Central Terminal, but I never took a tour. I knew some of its history, but Joe, our Tour Guide, shared many interesting details that I didn't know. He was articulate, engaging, and conveyed enthusiasm about the history, from its Beaux-Arts roots, to the grittiness and disrepair in the 60s and 70s, to its restoration. He had pictures to share. I remember as a teen the major news when Jackie O, et al, advocated to save it from potential destruction. Joe conveyed appreciation for the efforts of those guardians to preserve it. We were provided with earphones so we could hear him talk, and I could hear clearly both inside and out. I took a mid-morning tour to avoid the rush hours. Overall, it was well done and most enjoyable!
