Excellent
Great experience. Knowledgeable tour guide who taught us much about history and food along the way. Great stops, lots of snack, and accommodations for those on the tour who had restrictions (vegetarian, gluten, etc.). Highly recommend!

Excellent tour! Toute la famille a apprécié. On apprend autant sur l’histoire que sur la cuisine espagnole. Beaucoup de variété à goûter. Mitzi était une guide parfaite.

Mitzi did a wonderful job spiking all the stops with very interesting facts on the history of Madrid and the specific foods we were having. She also accommodated us vegetarians with good swaps when the others were having meat or seafood. Had a great time and can absolutely recommend!

Mitzi was a fabulous tour guide. Learned a lot of Madrid history, saw some fabulous sites, and tasted some great bites. Did this tour many years ago, and it was nice to see different places more than a decade later.

Know Before You Go

Is this a walking food tour?
Yes, we stroll through two central neighborhoods at a relaxed pace (about 2 km total), with plenty of food breaks and seating.
How much food is included?
15+ tastings at 8 spots—more than enough for a full meal. Come hungry! Water will be served at some spots, but we recommend bringing a water bottle if you get thirsty.
Do morning and evening tours differ?
Morning tours start with churros and hot chocolate; evening tours begin with tapas and beer. Everything else is the same.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes, with advance notice. Let us know when booking and we'll work with our partners to adjust tastings where possible.
Do we visit a real market?
Yes—an authentic neighborhood market where you’ll taste local staples and meet vendors we’ve worked with for years.
What neighborhoods do we explore?
You’ll visit Madrid’s Literary Quarter (Barrio de las Letras) and the historic center—both rich with culture, charm, and local flavor.
What makes this Madrid food tour different?
This is the original. Created in 2012, it’s built on real relationships—not just restaurant partnerships. You’ll eat with locals, at places we’ve trusted for generations—and walk away with a deeper connection to Madrid.
