Overview

You can't leave London without a proper visit to a pub, and on this historic pub tour, we'll take you to four. From a tiny, blink-and-you'll-miss-it bar to a stunningly opulent locale, these watering holes have witnessed centuries of history. They boast connections to household names like Charles Dickens and Mark Twain, and along the way, you'll discover the best British pub fare in the city, each bite perfectly paired with a drink at every stop.

What's Included

  • Enjoy four food tastings and four drinks at five different pubs in the City of London (food and drink included in the price). Enough food for a full dinner.
  • Step into pubs boasting hundreds of years of history that only a local knows how to find.
  • Learn the ins and outs of British pub culture as you taste staples like sausage rolls, scotch eggs, and more, all perfectly paired with beer and cider.
  • Hear legends of the historical household names who frequented each stop along the way.
  • Get into the local spirit as you play a classic pub game dating back to the 15th century.

Tour Itinerary

Your London historical pub tour starts the way all great evenings in London do: with a taste of ale. Follow your guide down a hidden alleyway to a 16th-century pub that might just be the most difficult to find in all of London. Once inside, you'll learn all about Queen Elizabeth I's connection to the site as you enjoy a traditional pork pie paired with a London Pride.

Next, we're off to a cozy bar designed by none other than Sir Christopher Wren, the same architectural mastermind beh...

This tour is excellent starting with Pete, our guide. His enthusiasm and historical knowledge cannot be beat. This is so much more than just a pub tour. The history of the pubs, the areas around them and the characters associated with them kept us engaged and entertained for hours. We unequivocally recommend this tour to all ages. Our group ranged from the 30s to the 70s. Just go! (Hope you get Pete!)

The pick up location for this tour is very difficult to find. We walked past it 3 times and still could not find it. We asked in local businesses and no one had heard of it. Need a location much easier to find.
