Overview

Barcelona’s old town is packed with places to eat—but finding the right ones? That takes a local. Devour's Barcelona food tour cuts through the tourist menus to show you how Catalans really eat: from cava and sandwiches for breakfast at a neighborhood market bar to an authentic (not yellow!) seafood paella in a family-run tavern that’s been around since the 1950s. Along the way, you’ll walk the city’s most historic streets, meet the people keeping tradition alive, and taste the flavors that give Barcelona its soul. This is the food tour for travelers who want to go deeper—and leave full.

What's Included

  • Experience Barcelona’s daily food culture at its source, with guided tastings inside Santa Caterina Market—where locals shop, and your guide knows the vendors by name
  • Start your day like a true Catalan, with cava and next-level breakfast sandwiches at a market bar that’s been serving regulars since the 1980s
  • Indulge in Barcelona’s best croissant (yes, really) and taste three heritage products at one of the city’s last old-school specialty shops
  • Feel the vibe of the real Barceloneta as you sip house-made vermouth and bite into a spicy bomba—Barcelona’s only true tapa—with a story to match
  • Sit down to a paella made the right way—saffron, house-made stock, bomba rice—in a family-run tavern that’s fed the neighborhood since the 1950s
  • Get under the skin of the city with a Devour expert guide, whose stories, warmth, and insider knowledge turn a food tour into a deeper connection with Barcelona

Excellent
Yesterday, my partner and I enjoyed a wonderful culinary tour in Barcelona. Our guide Alexandra (Alex) was absolutely amazing. She spoke clear and fluent English, provided detailed and passionate explanations, and took us to fascinating places we likely wouldn't have discovered on our own. She ensured that each person in our small group of seven felt respected and cared for. We highly recommend this experience—it completely transforms your vacation. We suggest doing something similar in any major city you visit.

This was such a fun tour! Mick was a great and knowledgeable guide, and the massive variety of stops, including a few that opened specifically for the tour, gave us a fantastic experience without the crowds that large tourist centers can see. Cannot recommend highly enough, and I will definitely check to see if Devour tours are available at my future travel destinations.
