Imagine after a long day’s sightseeing you can sit back, relax and unwind, not just with a cool drink in hand, but with fabulous views to go with it. Whether you want views of the ocean, views of famous monuments such as Gaudi’s La Pedrera house, or unspoiled 360-degree views of the city, here are the best rooftop bars in Barcelona that you need to visit when the weather permits!
Hotel Pulitzer
Let’s start in the middle of it all – you can’t get any more central than the rooftop at Hotel Pulitzer, just a few steps from Plaça Catalunya. This sanctuary of lush plants, candles galore and relaxing music is a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of Barcelona’s city center.
Address: Carrer Bergara, 8
Sky Bar at Grand Central Hotel
One of the newer rooftops in Barcelona, the Sky Bar at Grand Central Hotel checks off all the boxes. Great views, infinity pool, good food and bargain prices, at least by rooftop standards. The rooftop terrace opens to the public at 8:30 pm, but get there early because it tends to fill up fast!
Address: Laeitana, 30
Duquesa de Cardona
The terrace atop Duquesa de Cardona has some of the best views of Barcelona’s old port. It also happens to be one of few rooftops in Barcelona that are well-equipped for the winter. Not in town during the summer months? Worry not! They have heaters, blankets, and strong drinks to keep you warm.
Address: Passeig de Colon, 8
Condes de Barcelona Alaire Bar
Want to contemplate Gaudi’s La Pedrera from above? There’s no better place to do it than the chic Alaire Bar at the Condes de Barcelona hotel, perfectly set on Barcelona’s most elegant boulevard, Passeig de Gràcia.
Address: Passeig de Gràcia, 73-75
La Terraza Vila Emilia
If you’re looking for something on the smaller, more intimate side, check out La Terraza de Vila Emilia in the Eixample Esquerra district and not far from Plaça Espanya. A hidden gem amongst rooftops in Barcelona, find live music and barbecues on Thursday and Saturday nights. We recommend making reservations, as there is limited space up there.
Address: Carrer de Calabria, 115
La Isabela Terrace Hotel 1898
Though it might not seem so, locals do come down to La Rambla, and when they do, it’s often in the direction of the Isabela Terrace at the Hotel 1898. Contemplate the famed, tree-lined boulevard, as long with the other great views, from atop this oasis in the center of it all.
Address: La Rambla, 109
Hotel Barceló Raval Terraza 360º
Just as the name implies, this rooftop terrace boasts 360-degree views of Barcelona, from Montjuic to Tibidabo to the Torres Mapfre and beyond. It’s sleek, it’s modern and it’s perfect for a sunset drink.
Address: Rambla de Raval, 17-21
Wet Bar
Did we save the best for last? It depends on what you’re looking for. The Wet Bar at the W Hotel is undoubtedly the best spot for views of the water, and it also happens to be where the glamorous crowd hangs out on the balmy nights of summer. A live DJ on deck means there’s always a buzz at this ultra cool rooftop terrace.
Address: Plaça de la Rosa de Vents, 1
