The all-inclusive night kicks off at 8 p.m., when you’ll enjoy a multi-course fixed menu (entrée, starter, two first courses, two main courses and dessert) paired with quality wines. At midnight, don’t miss out on the fireworks and the NYE toast before you show your moves on the dance floor!

For the foodies: Retrobottega
Footsteps from Piazza Navona, Retrobottega delights all foodies with its food laboratory and open kitchen concept. Sit at the bar and admire the chefs in action, or grab a seat at the communal table and get ready to be surprised.
The night kicks off at their newly opened Retrovino wine shop, where you’ll enjoy an aperitivo, and then moves to Retrobottega just around the corner where a full fixed menu awaits you. If it’s a foodie NYE you’re searching for, this one’s for you!

For a cozy NYE: Osteria dell’Ingegno
With its envious location on Piazza di Pietra overlooking the ruins of the Temple of Hadrian, Osteria dell’Ingegno is the perfect place to ring in the New Year in the heart of Rome. Cozy, familiar and with a mix of traditional and innovative Roman dishes, the menu is a triumph of fresh seasonal ingredients.
With two seatings, one at 7:30 p.m. and the other at 10:30 p.m., it’s also the perfect place for those that want to have dinner first and then celebrate elsewhere. The menu is fixed, but you may choose variations on select courses.
Price: €100 (at 7:30 p.m.), €120 (at 10:30 p.m.)
For an à la carte menu: Baccano
Celebrate New Year’s Eve near the Trevi Fountain at Baccano, a Mediterranean bistrot inside a former bank. Step inside and get wrapped up in a cool, retro, Parisian vibe and get ready to be swept off your feet with their international menu.
Unlike other restaurants, Baccano doesn’t serve a fixed menu on NYE. There are two different seatings you can book. The first is from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and the second starts at 9:45 p.m. If you’re staying till after midnight, don’t forget to taste Baccano’s amazing cocktails—they’ve just gained a spot on the exclusive World’s 50 Best Bars list!
Price: à la carte (€50 reservation deposit per adult)
Restaurants open on New Year’s Day in Rome
Finding a restaurant that’s open on New Year’s Day in Rome (or anywhere else for that matter) isn’t super easy. But in the more central areas, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll find something.
If you’re in the Prati neighborhood, you can’t miss out on the trendy TAVOLA Bottiglieria e Cucina, serving a mix of Roman and Apulian cuisine paired with a stellar wine selection.
If you didn’t have the chance to try Baccano for NYE, now’s your chance—they’re also open all day on New Year’s Day. And if you’re catching a train to head off to another Italian city on January 1, head to Termini Station’s very own Mercato Centrale for dozens of stands and delicious food.
In the mood for something light and refreshing? Head to one of the two locations of Ginger Sapori e Salute.
For a nice dinner in the heart of Rome, try Osteria dell’Ingegno (closed for lunch, open for dinner). And for the trattoria experience, head to Osteria da Fortunata a stone’s throw away from Campo de’ Fiori. The must-try? The carbonara!
