Update as of June 11, 2020:
Little by little, our cities are starting to reopen, and the small business we visit on tour along with them. While a lot can still change, we’re currently planning on running our food tours this summer.
As we work through the process of reopening food tours, we’ll keep you updated on the health and hygiene procedures we and our partners are taking to ensure a safe experience. In the meantime, we’re still keeping our online food and wine experiences going strong, and just launched two exciting new teambuilding events: a virtual tapas challenge and virtual Spanish wine challenge!
We understand that many are anxious to travel after so many months spent at home, and we’d love to help make your trip as fun and memorable as possible. If you’re planning a trip, get in touch with us at [email protected] for information on our food tours and how we can help create a private experience for your group.

The past couple of weeks have been a stressful time for many, as we’ve seen uncertainty and fear spread along with the Coronavirus. Like most, we have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in our cities, and working hard to keep the best interests of our guests, guides, staff and tour vendors always front of mind. We’ve also been looking at historical and current best practices for a crisis like this one in the effort to act quickly and responsibly.
On March 11 the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a pandemic. As a company whose mission is to bring people from all corners of the world together over food and drink, we know it is our civic responsibility to respond accordingly and not contribute to the spread.
And so our current mission is to do our part to flatten the curve. Healthy individuals must practice social distancing by avoiding unnecessary public gatherings. This will slow the numbers of people who end up in the hospital with respiratory issues, and keep doctors and beds available for those who need them most.
Giving food tours is our passion—and the work that currently supports our staff of 25 people and 60+ freelance tour guides. But one of our company’s core values is also “Make the Right Choice” and it’s clear that right now we must sacrifice to put the community first.
Tours in March and April
Due to this, we have made the difficult and, we believe, completely necessary decision to suspend operations of our food tours until May 1st this year. From May onwards we will monitor the situation in all of our cities and re-open only when we believe we will be able to offer our tours in a safe and enjoyable environment for our guests, guides and vendors.
Tours in May and Beyond
We hope that the public health concerns will resolve themselves as we head into springtime, and we’ll be able to resume all tours soon. Therefore, tickets for tours after May 17th are still available for purchase. Devour Tours gift certificates are also available.
How You Can Help
The effects of COVID-19 are far reaching, from global health and safety to the economy. We know that there are difficult months ahead for all of us in the travel and tourism industry, and for the local businesses that we support on our tours.
If you’re looking for a way to support us and the bars & restaurants in the communities we operate in, we’d be grateful if you bought a gift certificate or two or purchased our digital cookbook, Recipes from the Devour Tours Kitchen. You will be helping to ensure we can continue to delight our guests, and support our guides, staff and vendors into the future. We like to think of it as an investment in our shared future of exploring delicious cities together.
Another way you can make an impact without even leaving your couch? If you’ve been on one of our tours in the past, now’s a great time to leave a TripAdvisor or Google review. That little boost now will help future guests find us & get excited to join us.
We thank you for your understanding and compassion during these challenging times, and can’t wait to see you all once things have settled down.
Wherever you are, we hope you’re still devouring great food from the comfort of your home. For delicious recipe ideas, we’ve compiled some favorite dishes from our tours here.
