You can’t beat the skip the line. Yes, you don’t have the option of a leisurely stroll through the Museum but not standing in the brutal heat is a god send.

The tour was incredible! I am so glad we booked a private tour with Walks of Italy as the whole scene can be quite chaotic on-site. I felt guided and safe with our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable about everything. It was worth the money and made our time at the Vatican smooth and impactful.

I highly recommended doing a tour when you go to visit the Vatican museums/Sistine chapel/St.Peter’s Basilica to get the most out of your experience and this tour was a great choice! The gentleman that did our tour was great,efficient and very knowledgeable! I learned more than I ever thought that I would in a few hour tour. He also made sure we made it through the line as fast as possible, kept us organized but also gave us time to spend time admiring the art especially in the Sistine chapel. It can get very very busy and crowded at these locations but with him I always knew where I needed to be and where we were going! Regardless of all of this we got to skip the lines which were insanely long so at the very least book a tour for this reason!

Are there any times when St. Peter's Basilica will not be open to visitors?
Note: The special access passage between the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica is closed on Wednesday mornings. It is subject to other closures during special celebrations/festivities, including the Easter ceremonies. On such days we will instead explore more of the Vatican Museums' galleries.
What is the dress code for the Vatican?
Access to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel is permitted only to visitors dressed modestly (no sleeveless blouses, no miniskirts, no shorts, no hats allowed). All guests regardless of gender must cover their shoulders and knees.
Is this tour accessible to guests with mobility impairments?
Unfortunately due to the nature of this tour it is not suitable for guests with mobility impairments, or for wheelchairs or strollers. Please contact the Guest Experience team at [email protected] to make alternative arrangements.
Is proof of identity (ID) required for this tour?
