This was an amazing tour full of history, tapas, wine and good conversations. Dom, our guide showed us so many amazing places, dropping historical allusions as we went along. The three food locations were top notch and we loved everything we ate and drank. If you would like to learn a little bit about Barcelona, specifically the history of the Gothic Quarter, enjoy tapas and wine at some great off the beaten path restaurants, and just have a delightful evening, this is the tour for you. Well worth the money. If we visit Barcelona again, we would definitely think about doing it all over again, just for fun, making sure we asked for Dom specifically.

Vera was a great guide, so knowledgeable with a deep history in the culinary culture and history. She explained every aspect of the area and how it tied in with the food. We would have probably not tried any of the food as we would have taken the traditional tourist menu selection. We learned a lot of how the Barcelona culture and its food began and evolved. We have a great experience and loved every minute of our tour.

Daniel was not only full of interesting information about the city, but also a great resource for local restaurants and places to visit. He went out of his way to learn about each of the couples on the tour to help personalize our time in Barcelona. Our only regret is that we did not take the tour earlier in our trip!

Know before you book

Is this tour private?
Yes! This is a completely private tapas tour in Barcelona, led by your own local expert for an experience that’s focused on you.
Why choose a private tapas tour in Barcelona?
Because it’s the only way to avoid the tourist traps and taste the best of Barcelona like a local—on your own schedule, at your own pace, with a guide who knows the real stories behind what’s on your plate.
What makes this different from other private tours in Barcelona?
This tour is all about context. You'll eat incredible food, but you'll also walk away understanding the flavors, history, and neighborhoods that make Barcelona such a vibrant, unforgettable place.
How much food is included?
15+ tastings at 8 spots—more than enough for a full meal. Come hungry! Water will be served at some spots, but we recommend bringing a water bottle if you get thirsty.
Are tapas free in Barcelona?
No—unlike some cities in Spain, Barcelona’s tapas are ordered and paid for, just like any other dish. But on this tour, we take care of everything. You just sit back and enjoy.
What are the most popular tapas in Barcelona?
Some of the can’t-miss dishes include pan con tomate, jamón ibérico, padrón peppers, and seasonal seafood. But part of the fun of this tour is tasting what’s best right now.
What is the cancellation policy for private food tours?
Private food tours may be cancelled and refunded up to 7 days before the tour date. Thank you for understanding.
Can I customize the route or food stops on a private tour?
Our routes and tastings are thoughtfully planned in advance. Each stop has been chosen for its craft, character, and place in the neighborhood’s daily life. Keeping the route intact allows the experience to unfold smoothly without rushing or waiting. That way you can simply arrive and enjoy a table, seat, or bite waiting just for you. While the route itself stays the same, the rhythm is yours. Your guide adjusts the pace to suit your group.
