Our guide, Leo, was engaging and well informed. It was great that our tour took us to a few sections that are not accessible by the general public. The initial portion of the tour focused on the history behind the creation of the catacombs with the last half centred on the ossuary. Very interesting!

Everything was really great. Amber was a very knowledgeable guide, and the catacombs themselves were truly impressive to see. Highly recommended. One thing that wasn't as good was that I got locked inside one of the non-public corridors because I was busy taking photographs and the group moved on. The guide didn't realize I was still there, and a guard locked the gate. It was a bit unpleasant, but I managed to call for a guard, and he opened the gate and helped me find my group again.

FAQs about the Paris Catacombs

Are the Catacombs accessible for people with mobility issues?

Unfortunately, the Paris Catacombs do not have elevator access and require you to descend 130 steps. As such, the Catacombs are not wheelchair accessible or for those with significant mobility issues.

I suffer from claustrophobia. Could I still visit the Catacombs?

Due to the tight nature of the catacombs, the catacombs are not advised for those with claustrophobia. Those with heart problems or other relevant medical conditions should take this into consideration before booking this tour.
