Hola, I'm

Mercedes M.

Guide & Foodie

I was born and raised in Seville. My studied communications and translation, and that is the reason why I have a deep passion about traveling, meeting new cultures, and seeing different ways of life. I have lived in Italy, Denmark and Ibiza, and traveled around the globe, but there are still many places I want to visit. Ask me about history, anthropology, culture, food and wines—I'm very passionate about these topics!

I think sharing experiences (and better around a table!) is one of the things that can make inspiring connections and mutual understanding.

My Insider Tips for Seville

Q: When is one of your favorite times of year to visit Seville?

April because Seville smells like orange blossom and we have the spring festivals like the April Fair and the Holy Week.

Q: What do you tell your visiting friends to see in your city?

I tell them to visit the Modern Art Museum CAAC, and wander around the Alameda and Feria area where most of the art scene is as well as secondhand vintage shops and interesting restaurants.

Q: What about the culture in Seville should people not miss?

I love going to the oldest local flea market on Thursday morning "El Jueves", and after that, going to the Feria food market nearby to enjoy some delicious tapas paired with an iced cold beer.

Q: What are some unmissable foods and drinks?

Gambas al ajillo, tortilla de patata and croquetas with Guadalquibeer, a local craft beer.
