Q. What inspired you to become a guide?
My first experience with tourism was when I was 14-years-old working as a volunteer for the town hall giving tourist information to practice my English, and I felt very comfortable doing it. I like to share my hometown and let visitors know the incredible city they are visiting and to try to make them feel the true character of Seville. I love history and art as well, but what I like the most is learning. I just enjoy knowledge, so this is the perfect job for me.
Q. What do you love most about Seville?
Its special character, the people, the history. The city is influenced by so many cultures throughout its 2,500 years, and it's been a big capital three times in three very different historic periods. Of course, the quality of the food and the wines—and that they are quite cheap— is another reason I love Seville. Oh, and the amazing spring fair, the Feria de Abril, where I can put on my flamenco dress and dance all day and night!
Q. Tell us one of your favorite stories to tell on tour.
I like to share how my father made me try manzanilla the first time in my late teens and that he taught me to drink that amazing wine. Now, when we finish the manzanilla tasting on the tour, very few of my guests are not convinced.
