Alameda

A vibrant, lively subset of the Macarena neighborhood, youthful and family-friendly Alameda has experienced a resurgence of popularity in recent years. Its most famous thoroughfare, the Alameda de Hércules, is a sprawling promenade with tons of space for kids to enjoy (there’s even a playground!) while parents enjoy a drink at one of the trendy cafes just beside it. Triana

Located across the river from the city center, Triana is where to stay in Seville with kids if you want to immerse yourself in local culture from day one. The neighborhood identity here is so strong, in fact, that many people refer to themselves as being from Triana rather than from Seville itself! However, despite their pride, trianeros are also friendly and welcoming to all who come to visit their revitalized barrio, and the importance of family runs deep here. It’s also home to dozens of bustling tapas bars for a great meal out, as well as one of Seville’s most emblematic fresh food markets.

Located just south of Triana, tranquil Los Remedios is considered one of Seville’s poshest districts. True to its original intention as a residential neighborhood, it’s a great place for families, and its wide avenues make it ideal for getting around with strollers. Plus, with plenty of shopping options and a handful of metro stations connecting the neighborhood to the city center, you’re never far from the action. Insider’s tip: While Los Remedios is a lovely option for families most of the year, come springtime it’s also the headquarters of Seville’s legendary April Fair. The area can get pretty noisy and crowded this time of year, with accommodation prices skyrocketing, so keep that in mind if you plan to visit in the spring.
