While Sunday is one of our favorite days to wander the narrow streets of Seville and have a beer in a nice plaza, it can be tricky to find a good restaurant that’s actually open!

After a hard working week, Sunday is when many bars and restaurants close and take a well-deserved rest. But this means that visitors often find themselves at a bit of a loose end on Sunday evenings.

However, don’t panic! If you’re unsure where to eat in Seville on Sundays, you’ve come to the right place! Check out these great restaurants and ensure you don’t get caught in a tourist trap during your weekend stay.

"Many

Vinería San Telmo

Vinería San Telmo is considered by many to be one of the best restaurants in the city, and justifiably so. Located just behind the gardens of the Alcázar Palace, this restaurant produces delicious, fusion tapas. Though it also doubles as one of our favorite places to drink wine in all of Seville.

But the best of all? Their kitchen is open on Sundays! Don’t leave without trying the squid ink spaghetti with garlic and grilled scallops-unforgettable!

Address: Paseo Catalina de Ribera, 4

Perro Viejo

Located near the iconic ‘Las Setas’ monument in the center of the city, Perro Viejo wonderfully combines traditional cuisine and modern flavorings, with delicious results! The patatas served in spicy bravas sauce are some of the best in the city, but the stand-out dish has to be the Peruvian inspired ceviche (with sweet potato and onion). If you’re just finished sightseeing and wondering where to eat in Seville on Sundays, this is a great place to go!

Address: Calle Arguijo, 3

Antigua Abacería de San Lorenzo

If tradition and authenticity are top of your list when searching for where to eat in Seville on Sundays, this is the spot for you! An abacería is part grocery store, part tapas bars serving local produce. This style of place has experienced a revolution of sorts in recent years. But it’s Antigua Abacería de San Lorenzo that is one of our favorites.

The antique vibe in this restaurant, along with the delicious food and welcoming staff, makes you feel like you’re truly eating like a local in the city. With an impressive, dynamic menu, there is something for everyone.

Address: Calle Teodosio, 53

Sal Gorda

Located in the Alfalfa neighborhood, just up from the lively Plaza del Salvador, you’ll find Sal Gorda, a wonderful restaurant that puts a delicious twist on some of Seville’s most traditional tapas. You’ll find local favorites such as carrillada (slow cooked pork or beef cheek) with a truffle puree twist, or even a dish of little squid combined with bacon!

You’ll also find a great selection of craft beers and some delicious wines. Brilliantly located and with a welcoming, local atmosphere, this restaurant is a great choice if you’re looking wondering where to eat in Seville on Sundays.

Address: Calle Alcaicería de la Loza, 23

ConTenedor

One of our ultimate favorite places to enjoy a relaxed dinner in Seville, ConTenedor is also open on Sundays! Located on Calle San Luis, this restaurant specializes in slow cooking, and the intimate atmosphere makes it a great place to mark a special occasion in Seville.

While the menu is regularly updated, the famous duck rice dish is a welcome constant. It’s definitely one of the best gourmet tapas in the city, and their wine list brilliantly compliments the fresh and unique cooking style of the restaurant.

Address: Calle San Luis, 50

"ConTenedor

Al Aljibe

Located right on the Alameda de Hercules square, this converted house now plays home to a great restaurant. Here you’ll find a variety of delicious tapas, both modern and traditional. With both inside and outside seating available, this is a great spot all year round!

Make sure and try their marinated pork loin with sweet potato and their tuna tataki, both beautifully prepared tapas. A meal at Al Aljibe is something you certainly won’t regret during your stay in Seville and is such a great option if you’re unsure where to eat in Seville on Sundays!
