We’ve already experienced Semana Santa<\/a>, which is one of the most storied events of the entire year in Seville in March<\/a> (or April<\/a>, depending on the year). Two weeks later, of course, it’s time for the legendary Feria<\/em>. Throw in some beautiful weather and a lively, festive atmosphere throughout the city, and you’ve got the setting for a picture-perfect trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Party like a sevillano at the Feria de Abril<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  If you’re only going to do one thing in Seville in May, make it this. As the biggest, best, and most anticipated fiesta <\/em>of the year, Seville’s iconic Feria de Abril<\/a><\/em> is a whirlwind celebration full of flamenco flair, elegant horses, sevillanas<\/em>, and plenty of sherry wine<\/a> and rebujito<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  But wait\u2014if it’s called the “April Fair,” why does it take place entirely in May in 2019? Well, because opening day of the fair is always two weeks after the end of Semana Santa, which falls relatively late this year. As a result, Feria<\/em> gets pushed back out of its namesake month entirely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Seville’s fair sometimes gets a bad rap for its exclusivity, due to the fact that many of its casetas <\/em>(tents) are private for members only. However, it’s entirely possible to enjoy the fair in all its glory at one of the public <\/a>casetas<\/a><\/em>, which seem to grow in number year after year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
