Breakfast<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If it\u2019s not included at your hotel, don\u2019t worry! Breakfast in France is the lightest meal of the day, and you can pick up a handmade croissant<\/a> at any of the thousands of boulangeries<\/em> in the city for around \u20ac1. And there\u2019s no need to worry about missing out on precious sightseeing time, either. Breakfast pastries are eaten on the go, or on a public bench\u2014rarely in a caf\u00e9 or restaurant where they can often be three times the bakery price. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coffee can be a little more expensive, especially if you want a caf\u00e9 cr\u00e8me<\/em><\/a> <\/em>on the outside terrace (a coffee with milk is never called a caf\u00e9 au lait<\/em> by locals). In bars and restaurants, you pay for your real estate\u2014there are generally three different prices for drinks. Standing at the bar and sipping an espresso will often only cost you \u20ac1; if you want to sit inside, it will be \u20ac2, and sitting outside can often run you more than \u20ac2.50 for the same cup of coffee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
