Open six days a week, March\u00e9 d\u2019Aligre is probably the easiest to slip into a busy touring schedule. Choose between browsing stands in the covered market, or skipping between outdoor stalls, but either way you win. A stone\u2019s throw from the Notre Dame, March\u00e9 Maubert brings the ambiance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The maze of stalls is compact, but varied\u2014from artisanal preserves to beautiful bouquets of artichokes and fat, ripe tomatoes. If the market stalls don\u2019t catch your eye, drop into the specialty shops that line place Maubert. 3. March\u00e9 des Enfants Rouge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Located in the chic Haut Marais, this covered Paris food market was created in 1615. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking its name from the orphanage, March\u00e9 des Enfants Rouge is an ideal stop whether or not you\u2019re staying somewhere with a kitchen. Make a selection from a variety of produce stands or stop for lunch at the bevy of restaurants. Here, Japanese bento boxes, truffle ravioli, and Moroccan tagines all rub elbows underneath the market\u2019s arching iron and glass ceiling. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. March\u00e9 Anvers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Open Friday afternoons, the March\u00e9 Anvers is a perfect stop on your way home from a day of exploring the Butte Montmartre<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nestled along the edges of Square d\u2019Anvers, March\u00e9 Anvers has an elegant and convivial atmosphere\u2014much like the quartier <\/em>that houses it.<\/em> Sprightly vegetables share top billing with fromagers<\/em> from Auvergne, Meditteranean traiteurs <\/em>(who offer food to go), fresh ravioli and rotisserie chickens. The market even includes a number of bio<\/em>, or organic, producers to satisfy your cravings. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the mood for food? Do you want a ridiculous walk-away-laughing-with-your-arms-full-of-produce deal? Then March\u00e9 Villette is for you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stretching between Colonel Fabien and Belleville, this Paris food market gives you a taste of the real Paris. Vendors hollering deals will pull clients from the crowd towards their booths with the promise of sweet deals. You might get your foot run over by a \u201cgranny trolley\u201d or two, but you can\u2019t beat the prices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
