Let’s face it there are so many delicious things to eat in Barcelona! But with every season there are, of course, some you just can’t miss out on trying.<\/h3>\n

It’s the dead of winter, and we need something to be excited about. Like cal\u00e7ots. Or ramen. Or some incredibly naughty sweets that we need to stay warm.\u00a0Check out these five incredible things to eat in Barcelona\u00a0right now, from the most delicious seasonal treats to what’s hot in the trendy foodie scene.<\/p>\n

Alcachofas a la Catalana<\/h2>\n

We are in\u00a0the peak season of artichokes\u00a0and you can tell. Take a\u00a0walk around any market\u00a0in Barcelona and you will notice all the fruit stalls are\u00a0stocked with enormous, beautiful artichokes.\u00a0Just looking at them\u00a0makes our mouths water! There are plenty of\u00a0Spanish and Catalan dishes\u00a0that feature the artichoke, but\u00a0why not something classic? Any recipe\u00a0a la Catalana<\/em>\u00a0usually implies the addition of pine nuts, raisins and ham\u00a0(other pork products), and that’s basically what\u00a0alcachofas a la Catalana\u00a0<\/em>are, with\u00a0a dash of lemon for good measure!<\/p>\n

One of the most typical Christmas dishes<\/a> of this region in Spain is\u00a0escudella i carn de olla. <\/em>Which is\u00a0two-courses soup divided in parts. First comes the broth with big macaroni-like noodles (galets<\/em>)\u00a0and then comes the meat and vegetables used in making it. Of course, the stuff is so warm and hearty that it’s everywhere throughout the winter. Many restaurants serve just the\u00a0sopa de galets\u00a0<\/em>as a first course at lunch. This stuff is\u00a0potent,\u00a0<\/em>and perfect for a cold winter’s day.<\/a><\/p>\n

Ramen<\/h2>\n

While we’re on the topic of soup, can we just talk about how hot ramen is right now? With yet another addition to the Japanese dining scene\u2014Koku Kitchen<\/a> in the Gothic. It seems that\u00a0choosing\u00a0where to eat ramen is the hardest part. Ramen-ya Hiro<\/a> is another great bet for very authentic ramen, so much so that you might forget you’re in Barcelona.<\/p>\n
