Excellent
Hillary ( American name, I think) was fantastic. Her knowledge was incredible. Any question thrown at her, she knew the answer.

Excellent
The Pristine Sistine was an amazing experience for my family! We have done multiple guided tours and adventures at some of the most amazing sites in the world and our tour guide, Gigi was the best we’ve ever had for any of them. His knowledge, humor, and personalized and engaging style made him the best tour guide we’ve ever had. He managed to entertain and capture all of our imaginations - and made us feel like old friends by the end of the tour. His knowledge of history and the Vatican was exceptional. If you’re in Rome, treat yourself to this experience, you won’t forget it.

What a unique experience to visit the Sistine Chapel before the public. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared great insights on the Vatican and the chapel

Excellent
My family of four had a fantastic time on this tour. The tour was not private, but our group was small enough to feel very personal, and it made getting through the other visitors and tour groups very manageable. Our tour guide Giulietta was extremely knowledgeable, passionate about Rome and its history, and also very friendly and likeable. We have been on many tours, and these qualities do not always go together. We have two teenage boys who came to the tour less enthusiastic, and she kept them engaged, asking them questions by name, and personalizing their experience, which helped us all to cheerfully survive a daunting tour. This tour moved efficiently, and even though we could not come close to seeing everything, we truly felt we got the important highlights and then some, along with a lot of good contextual history. I would highly recommend both tour and tour guide to others.

Great
We originally booked the early morning Pre-opening tour. It was canceled due to the pope’s scheduling that day, which isn’t my complaint. The process of rebooking a new tour via email was very clunky and hard to verify the details. I had to rearrange other things after the new Vatican tour verification and I could not get a clear answer until very late. The tour was also extremely fast paced. It’s understandable, but it was a let down. The tour guide was very nice but hard to understand at times.

Know Before You Book

Are there any times when St. Peter's Basilica will not be open to visitors?
The special access passage between the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica is closed on Wednesdays and subject to other unexpected closures during special celebrations/festivities, including the Easter ceremonies. On such days we will instead explore the magnificent Pinacoteca Gallery rather than the Basilica.
What is the dress code for the Vatican?
Access to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel is permitted only to visitors dressed modestly (no sleeveless blouses, no miniskirts, no shorts, no hats allowed). All guests regardless of gender must cover their shoulders and knees.
Is this tour accessible to guests with mobility impairments?
Unfortunately due to the nature of this tour it is not suitable for guests with mobility impairments, or for wheelchairs or strollers. Please contact the Guest Experience team at [email protected] to make alternative arrangements.
